[This is your homework. Watch Tig. I’d been meaning to watch this for months and finally got around to it last night. It is so inspiring – to think that there is nothing that can’t be laughed at. This is my goal. She is my hero. Laugh with me.] September 20, 2015
Every once in a while someone comes along who simply and swiftly rocks your world. Tig was one of those people for me. I had heard about her Netflix documentary here and was intrigued for sure. But that was before my diagnosis. After my diagnosis, however, I was scared to watch it. I didn’t want to hear about anyone else’s journey for fear of what I might uncover – truths that I didn’t know existed. I made my husband promise to watch with me and 5 days after my lumpectomy we finally did.
What I witnessed was life changing. Tig was met with terrible news over and over again for a year. What she did with her pain and grief was incredible. She went on stage and made people laugh with her about it.
What if you could laugh about anything??
I had a new hero and a new goal – to laugh at my situation! That is exactly what I needed as I moved forward into the unknown.
